How can K.I.S. save me money? By having your actual entire medical records and insurance information, the treating physician can avoid ordering unnecessary expensive and uncomfortable tests or hospital admissions. The bills go to the insurance companies. Return to Questions
How many times can I request my files? As often as you need. Return to Questions
Who can request my medical records besides my medical doctor? Anyone you give privileges and your password to. This includes your chiropractor, acupuncturist, attorney, or even your employer. With your permission, even family members have access. But no one gets to your records without your okay. Return to Questions
How frequently do I update my records? If you have just been discharged from the hospital or had an extensive examination, please forward us the information or notify us if you want our assistance. Otherwise, we will send you a request for updates at regular intervals. Return to Questions
How does my personal physician request my records? Simply fill in an authorization form with all the information, or instruct your doctor to fill in his/her information as well. Fax in the form if it’s not an emergency. Your physician will have your records faster than ever before. Return to Questions
If I’m traveling to another country and become ill, can my records get to me in time? Absolutely YES. Anywhere in the world. All that's needed is a phone line. We can send it via computer or fax. If needed we could even read your file over the phone. Before leaving on one of those exotic vacations, notify us two weeks in advance, and we’ll send you a current copy of your medical record to travel with you. Return to Questions
Does K.I.S. have family plans? If you want your immediate family protected with our service, we will work with you on a reduced fee for our service. Return to Questions
I know someone who is physically challenged. How can they use your services? K.I.S. Medical Record Solutions can offer them the same excellent service as anyone else. If the person is unable to communicate for whatever reason, the service we provide will inform the physician with a complete medical history. This may be one of the best uses of our service. What do I do to get started with K.I.S.? First, contact us by way of phone, fax, or e-mail. Request an information package. Fill in the information and send it back. The K.I.S. Do I need a computer for your services? Absolutely NOT. All that is needed is a phone. All your physician needs is a phone line, a fax, or a computer. Return to Questions
Are there any additional hidden fees? K.I.S. has one fee annually for services, and there is a one time setup fee of $15.00. Obtaining records are the responsibility of the client. At your request we will assist you in obtaining your medical records from physicians’ offices and hospitals. Some of our clients have two or three physicians and medical records at two or more hospitals. Each facility has a charge for the copying of their records. K.I.S. will not be responsible for these charges. If you request our assistance in gathering your records, we will be happy to assist you, but there will be a charge for this service. Can I have my medical records printed and mailed for me? You can request your medical records be printed to paper and mailed to you or whom ever you desire. K.I.S. is an electronic service. The mailing of records would be very expensive and is not considered part of our regular services. The charges for printing and mailing of records are as follows: 1) Printing is 25 cents per page
Files can be quite large and expensive to mail, as well as slow to arrive. Please give at least ten business days notice per request.
